A fundraiser that costs you nothing
Dear families,
[School name] has joined Pokémon-athon, and it is the easiest fundraiser we have ever run: there is nothing to buy, nothing to sell, and nothing to organise.
Here is the whole thing. Your child brings in Pokémon cards they are no longer using — commons, duplicates, the loose ones at the bottom of the box. We collect them in the school office. Pokémon-athon pays the school 10¢ for every card, up to $10,000. That is $100 for a thousand cards, and a shoebox of commons is often more than that.
You do not need to sort them, sleeve them, or work out what they are worth. Please do hold back anything your child actually treasures — this is for the cards that are genuinely finished with.
One rule: no bent, ripped or fake cards. We can only pay for genuine Pokémon cards in playable condition — soft corners and light scuffs are completely fine. If damaged or counterfeit cards turn up in a donation, tell us on the slip whether you would like them recycled or sent back.
